This is a 1 credit hour program that introduces encapsulated Medical Food as a scientifically proven viable therapy to assist in the treatment of pain from chronic to acute as well as inflammation, cognitive needs, diabetes, and more.
We start this course by looking at the history of Medical Foods. Following this we take a brief look at what Medical Foods are. Then we discuss what the current market size is and where it is anticipated to go. There is discussion around the FDA’s opinion of Medical Foods. We follow this with why the labeling of medical foods may not bear the symbol “Rx only.” Then we connect nutrition to medicine/health care. We will take a short look at Medical Food technology as we wrap up this hour.
